These are Thai short codes, not international phone numbers. Dial them while in Thailand, without adding +66. A data-only travel eSIM may not support ordinary phone calls. If your call will not connect, ask someone with a working phone to call for you when it is safe to do so.

Make your location clear

Say the district and province, not just the name of your hotel or attraction.

1. Check the exact spot

   In Google Maps on Android or iPhone, find your actual location. Press and hold that spot to place a pin. Check it against nearby roads or landmarks; do not assume the map has placed you correctly.

2. Send the pin and a written description

   Open the place or address panel, choose Share, then choose your messaging app and recipient. Include the district, province and a nearby landmark. Sending a message needs a working connection; check that it was received.

3. Give a callback number

   Tell the person helping you what happened, your phone number and any access details, such as a road name, trail entrance or accommodation sign. Follow the emergency operator's instructions.

Before heading out of town

• Save this guide, then reopen the saved file with your internet connection off. Check that you can find it in your phone's files before you need it.
• Save your accommodation's name, address in Thai and phone number. Keep a screenshot of its map location and nearby landmarks.
• Keep your own emergency contact, insurer's assistance number and policy reference available offline. Keep personal documents private.
• Tell someone your planned route and when you expect to check in. Charge your phone and carry a charged power bank.
• Ask your accommodation or local staff about current road, trail and weather conditions before leaving. This guide is not a live conditions report.

Save a separate offline map

While connected, open Google Maps, tap your profile, then Offline maps. Choose Select your own map and include Pai plus the entire area and route you plan to visit. Download it and check it opens offline.

Map downloads have availability limits and expire. Google Maps does not provide walking, cycling or public transport directions offline, or live traffic information. An offline map is not a trail-safety or road-access guarantee.

If you cannot connect

The saved guide remains readable, but it cannot create phone coverage, send a message or arrange a rescue. If safe, ask nearby accommodation staff, a guide or another person with a working phone to contact help. Show them your written location and explain what happened. Do not put yourself in danger trying to find a signal.
